The south groin reconstruction at Herring Point is nearing completion. The photo below of the nearly-finished groin shows final stone placement and grading.

Once the groin restoration project is complete, the parking lot at the point will be reopened and beach access will once again be possible via pedestrian path.

Meanwhile, surfers report that conditions at the North Groin (in background of photo above) continue to be excellent for surfing as shallow sand bars have formed offshore. |
